My approach

Compassionate Psychotherapy

I provide a thoughtful and compassionate setting for individuals, couples, and families, with the aim of helping clients find more effective ways to address issues and concerns that are negatively impacting their lives.

How Psychotherapy Works

Generating Meaningful Change

The Therapeutic Collaborative Process-

Meaningful therapy depends on the powerful interpersonal relationship between the client and clinician, which is one of the many reasons why we work together to create a profound and significant connection. Through therapy, clients find themselves expanding insights, achieving deeper self-awareness, and making more invested choices, leading to meaningful developments in their lives and thus affecting transformative change crystalizing in leading a thriving and flourishing lives with meaning making and purpose.

Process & Approach

Effective Psychotherapy through proven Techniques

Effective psychotherapy can not only relieve unpleasant symptoms and concerns but can also change a person. My approach includes a focus on helping an individual, a couple, or a family to gain deeper awareness into how their past and present affect the way they experience their present and future. The more a client understands how and why they think and feel the way they do, the easier it becomes to use that insight to make better choices in life, work, and relationships.

I integrate empirically proven techniques, rooted in psychodynamic theory (Freudian psychology) thus paying credence to the unconscious motives and analyzing its cascading affects and making sense of its impact on a person`s present psychological conflicts and difficulties.

Following that and working collaboratively I offer a custom-made treatment plan based on the needs of each person. And, as an Integrative Therapist I am able to facilitate the processes needed by bringing together a range of evidence-based approaches to augment the efficacy and treatment plan.

Adolescents

Being a teenager is hard. At this stage in life, they are starting to develop their identity, what they believe, and striving for more independence from their parents. With those evolutionary changes and challenges during this developmental stage there are also many ensuing social and developmental struggles that follow. However, teens today are growing up in a much more complex environment, with more social and developmental struggles than ever dealt with before. Cyber bullying, constant access to technology, video games, social media overload, and the list goes on. These factors have heavily increased the amount of mental health issues among teens today. My therapeutic approach is to equip teens with the tools they need to navigate through the highs and lows of growing up by providing a safe space that is all their own to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and needs. Although teens are not in the same developmental stage as children, I still find it useful to use creative expressions such as art and play, in an age-appropriate way, to help teens work through the variety of challenges they face.

Young Adults

During this time in life many transitions take place, starting college, moving, getting a job, the beginning and ending of relationships, and the ever-increasing level of responsibility. It is also a time of self-discovery and exploration, a time to really come into your own and decide who you want to be and what you want to do in life. Although these transitions and discoveries can be exciting, they can also bring about stress and anxiety. My goal is to provide a safe space where clients can feel heard, understood, and fully process the difficulties that these transitions can bring about. I believe that through gaining awareness of yourself and becoming honest about the barriers preventing healing, personal goals can be achieved, and true transformation can happen.

Your First Session

I believe that the first session with my clients is a time to get to know one another, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding about the issues affecting their lives. During our initial sessions, we will look at the underlying reasons that brought you to therapy and learn more about what you hope to gain from therapy so we can set goals together for treatment.

Working collaboratively with the client/s, I tailor our psychotherapeutic approach for treatment to each of our clients. With the understanding that everybody is unique, our first visit assessment will look into your specific set of life experiences and circumstances, including your family and childhood history. The priority is, and will always be, the psychological security and safety of our clients; therefore, our aim is to create a space for healing from day one.

I provide a safe platform from your private space to talk through sensitive personal issues so that we can work through your concerns together.

Why online Therapy?

Online Therapy is a good substitute for in-person therapy. I shall inform you if online therapy is right for you. Online mental health therapy has many benefits. Here are some reasons my clients choose online therapy to deal with their problems:

  1. Validated by research findings:There are robust research findings that suggest the therapeutic efficacy of Online Therapy to be the same as face-to-face therapy. In some cases, online therapy has been found to be more effective such as during the early sessions and other factors such as client`s state of well-being which in turn may be anxiety provoking to be in a face-to-face session.
  2. Easier Access to Therapy: Clients may have limited mobility or limited time and cannot travel to the office. Online therapy allows them an easy way to access their therapist and participate in their sessions. Clients can communicate with a trained professional to work through their problems from the comfort of their home or from other places convenient to them.
  3. More Consistent Therapy: Online therapy decreases interruptions in therapy that can happen due to commuting difficulties and other causes, like poor weather, traffic, travel, not feeling well. This option allows clients to continue participating in psychotherapy on a regular basis, even when their schedule changes and it is hard to attend a regular office appointment.
  4. Better Access to Help: Online therapy can allow individuals in remote areas or individuals with mobility problems to get help that they need from specialists without the need to travel or commute. You can access these services anywhere you can find an Internet.

Concluding Statement

The hallmark of my work therapeutically is an “Integrative Approach.” Accordingly, my approach is flexible, creative, and 100 percent%% evidence based. It is the culmination of many years of education, training, and experience and undoubtedly one that is ongoing. Specifically, and of critical importance the therapeutic goals and outcome when working with clients is focused not just on recovery but building on that and thus scaffolding towards having a thriving and flourishing life, a life filled with meaning and purpose thus experiencing a pleasant and engaged journey. To this end I work with my clients towards re-imagining the possibilities of their lives in the manner that they envision, and one that corresponds with their values and aspirations.

I am fortunate to help many clients in this regard and my integrative therapeutic approach encompassing many of the modalities mentioned above collectively adds profound depth and breadth and often is curative thus affecting transformative change. It is evident in the therapeutic benefits and change my clients experience and reflected in the feedback I receive from them. At the very heart of my therapeutic approach is being able to facilitate the processes needed to affect transformative change and I do so by working collaboratively with my clients and listening and engaging with them thus witnessing the emerging stories unfolding in an organic way.

What do I request in return from my client/s?

The readiness to engage in therapy.

Awakening the name of my private practice means different things to different people. I have had clients conceptualize it among others as a “Re-Birth, “Elevation of Consciousness”, “A Heighten Sense of Awareness, and a “Re-Emergence of Clarity”: All of it undoubtedly is profound, transformative, and thus resonates.

“Re-Imagining Possibilities”, the mantra of my practice corresponds and thus is congruent and harmonious with Awakening and the readiness to engage in therapy is the first step.
